Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lt. Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as the Joker. The second chapter of Christopher Nolan's Batman reboot is an excellent movie, but the third time I watched it, my initial impression waned a bit. And seriously, who decided on that Batman voice? That voice is unintentionally funny and comes close to ruining the movie. Still, nothing can undermine Heath Ledger's incredible performance (R.I.P.)
I watched The Dark Knight Rises a few days ago and as a trilogy, Christopher Nolan's Batman vision is Goth-ham'd brilliant. The few flaws are overshadowed by the amazingly realized world and the impressive way the whole thing is intertwined. The bottom line is: This is great entertainment.
