Various Artists - Playlist - July/August Posted by Brian - Wednesday, September 08, 2010 On the subject of Harem Scarem, that sure looks like an impressive suite of releases from Wounded Bird.
Various Artists - Playlist - July/August Posted by Little Drummer Boy - Wednesday, September 08, 2010 Mood Swings is one hell of a release and was certainly ahead of it's time. My personal favorite.
Perhaps it is not Hess trying to sound like HS but rather prefers that direction. 20 years with one band and was there from the start. Just a thought as to the musical direction that was taken by Hess. However I have not listen to the CD release yet.
Tommy nailed the description of Blind Guardian latest release. I am pretty sure it is going to stay in my CD rotation for a long while.

Metallica - Master Of Puppets Posted by bogdan - Wednesday, September 01, 2010 BEST MUSIC EVER RECORDED.
Various Artists - Playlist - July/August Posted by Brian - Saturday, August 28, 2010 I'd rather be saying something positive, but I've listened through this release several times and it just sounds a bit too much like Harry Hess trying too hard to be Harem Scarem circa 1994.
Sometimes you just can't recapture the past.
An album like 'Mood Swings' only ever happens once.
Various Artists - Playlist - July/August Posted by Little Drummer Boy - Saturday, August 28, 2010 First Signal: Saw the video for "The City" and what a killer song. If this Debut by Hess & Ward is anything like the single then we are in for a treat. By all accounts I have checked numerous reviews and all seem to be in an agreement that First Signal is a must to get. So Tommy could this be the AOR release of the year?
Kiske Somerville - Kiske Somerville Posted by Steen - Friday, August 27, 2010 Yeah, the album is released on September 24.
Kiske Somerville - Kiske Somerville Posted by Dark Lord - Thursday, August 26, 2010 I've been waiting for this one for a long time; Is it out then??? I thought it'd be released in September.
BTW I think Amanda Somerville is most recognized for her role in "Aina" project & touring with Avantasia.
Thanks for the review, the album sounds promising.
Various Artists - Playlist - June/July 2010 Posted by Little Drummer Boy - Saturday, August 21, 2010 Fates Warning's "Spector Within" very much like "Night On Brocken". "Awaken the Guardian" is superb seeing strong progressive elements which is the last release John Arch would contribute. I still find "No Exit" to be my favorite with the debut of Ray Alder as Arch's replacement. Very Progressive yet arguably their heaviest. the 21 minute epic "The Ivory Gate of Dreams" is brilliant.
Judas Priest - Painkiller Posted by hell - Tuesday, August 17, 2010 No offnese, but as review say, All guns blazing is simplest song on the disk is totally wrong. All guns blazing has toughest solo on the disk. I am a guitar Player and beleive me it's so complex. Notes are so random.
Alice Cooper - Live with Company of Snakes, KB Hallen, Copenhagen - November 10, 2002 Posted by GDDR - Sunday, August 15, 2010 check out Alice or you're missing out.

Sweden Rock Festival 2010 - Wednesday - F.K.Ü., Steelwing, Carnival Sun, Katana and U.D.O. Posted by Stuart - Thursday, August 12, 2010 Princess, Princess, Princess of the Dawn!!!
It's got to be one of my all time favourite live tracks too!
Pain of Salvation - Road Salt One Posted by Tajs - Tuesday, August 10, 2010 Great review Steen, I can see that this great album caught you just as much as me. I didn't expect something like this from PoS, though I can see how their previous albums are leading in this direction. I short, I looove songs like No Way, Sisters and Sleeping Under the Stars. Sisters brought tears to my eyes the first many times I listened to it. They are just in a league of their own. The rest of the songs are great too, but they take more time to get into.
I think I ordered this album after listening to the first 2 songs. Don't remember the last time that happened. I got the special edition soon after and I must say that I prefer that one. But then again I'm a dirty bastard and I like singing along to "There is no way that you can FUCK her like I can!"...
