| Thursday, May 27, 2010 - Rush DVD Release date 28/6/10 | London - Universal Music Group, the world's leading music company, in association with Banger Films is thrilled to announce the feature length DVD and Blu-ray release of the critically acclaimed, award winning documentary, "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage" on June 28. The film made its world premiere in April at the ninth annual Tribeca Film Festival in NYC and the filmmakers, Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn won the highly coveted Heineken Audience Award.
Rush (Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart) is one of rock's most influential bands, ranking third for most consecutive gold and platinum albums behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. The band has engaged legions of devoted fans over the decades and is revered by generations of musicians. The documentary features never-before-seen archival footage and interviews with some of today's most respected rock artists such as Billy Corgan, Taylor Hawkins, Trent Reznor, Sebastian Bach, Kirk Hammett, Jack Black and Gene Simmons. "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage" explores the forty-year career and phenomenon behind what could be the world's biggest cult band. Directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn embark on a comprehensive exploration of this extraordinary power trio, from their early days in Toronto, through each of their landmark albums, to the present day.
There is also a bonus disc that features exclusive material including footage from 1974 with original drummer, John Rutsey; videos of tracks taken from the 'Snakes And Arrows' DVD; Interviews and "On The Road" footage.
Runtime of the film and bonus disc includes over 3 hours of content.

| Sunday, January 21, 2007 - Rush album news | On Monday (January 15th), Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson spoke with Canada's Rock Station about the new album. Alex states the band came to LA on Monday, January 15th to mix album and should be done by the end of the month. The album took only 30 days to record, the shortest time they have taken to record an album since A Farewell To Kings. Andrew MacNaughtan has been video taping the entire project, with the possibility of including a making of DVD. The band plans on launching a North American tour on June 12th or 13th, running through the end of the year, to be followed by dates in Europe and South America. When asked about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Lifeson states "I couldn't care less, look who's up for induction, its a joke". | Monday, April 10, 2006 - Rush news | Billboard.com is reporting that three vintage Rush home videos will make their DVD debut as part of the boxed set "Rush Replay X 3", due June 13 via Mercury/UME. The collection will include 1982's "Exit ... Stage Left", 1985's "Grace Under Pressure" and 1991's "A Show of Hands", plus a previously unreleased audio CD version of "Grace Under Pressure". Guitarist Alex Lifeson created new stereo mixes for the releases, which are presented in 5.1 Surround Sound. Tour booklets from the three concerts have also been reprinted for the set.
Filmed in 1981 in Montreal, "Exit ... Stage Left" spotlights Rush in its early career heyday as it performs such tracks as "Red Barchetta", "YYZ", "Tom Sawyer", "Limelight" and "Closer to the Heart".
"Grace Under Pressure" was taped in Rush's Toronto homebase and blends hits like "New World Man" and "The Spirit of Radio" with more uncommon fare like "Witch Hunt", "The Enemy Within" and "The Weapon". The latter track is accompanied by a video featuring actor Joe Flaherty as his "SCTV" character Count Floyd.
"A Show of Hands" was taped in 1988 in Birmingham, England, and was issued in tandem with a live album of the same name. Peart's nightly drum solo appears here for the first time on an official release. Other highlights include "Turn the Page", "Marathon" and a closing medley of "2112"/"La Villa Strangiato"/"In the Mood".

| Wednesday, September 03, 2003 - Rush in Rio DVD news | On October 21st Rush again will prove themselves noteworthy of being a superior live band by releasing their fifth live album "Rush In Rio," recorded during their visit to South America on their "Vapor Trails" tour, making us anxious for yet another triple live CD set (following up 1998's "Different Stages"), along with a companion DVD set to be released on the same day.
Both sets will include tracks spanning the bands entire career; The CD set includes performances of "Between Sun and Moon" and Vital Signs" which have rarely been performed live, and are available for the first time on CD as a live version, while the DVD will include a documentary, multi angle features, 5.1 Dolby Digital sound, as well as rare performances.
