Quick Review

Spotlight, based on the true story of the Boston Globe investigative journalist team exposing widespread sexual abuse of children within the Catholic Church, walks a fine balance and handles its subject matter with the utmost care and respect. The movie is chilling on many occasions. It is also extremely well made and performed with total conviction and great skill by all involved.

Spotlight is an enthralling experience and comes highly recommended. I was left with both a feeling of great respect for those who worked hard to expose these crimes, and a feeling of abject horror that this has actually taken place.

Spotlight is an important movie and works on several levels, not in the least as a tribute to all honorable people around the world who work to expose crimes and neglect of all kind.
