A small gem of a thriller where a chance encounter and a spur of the moment decision gets Nicolas Cage in way over his head. Red Rock West has multiple double crossings, characters with questionable morale and a certain charm brought on by its great sense of humor. Especially the first two thirds of the movie are on a roll but near the end it succumbs to a more traditional thriller ending.
Great performances all around and I would never have known this movie existed if it wasn't for the November 2013 issue of Empire. Yes, I recommend the magazine as well as the movie.
