Plot

Jerry Maguire used to be a typical sports agent: willing to do just about anything he could to get the biggest possible contracts for his clients, plus a nice commission for himself. Then, one day, he suddenly has second thoughts about what he's really doing. When he voices these doubts, he ends up losing his job and all of his clients, save Rod Tidwell, an egomaniacal football player.

Quick Review

Jerry Maguire perfectly captures certain feelings about relationships and love that speak to me on so many levels. The main characters just feel so right and believable. Cameron Crowe underlined his status as my favorite director (along with James Cameron) with this movie. Cuba Gooding Jr. got a well deserved Oscar for his spirited performance, but Tom Cruise is the biggest surprise here, as he lets it all go and really captures the heart and soul of his character as he comes of age.

Zellweger and her incredibly cute kid work as a good contrast to the work element and the interaction between all the characters is brilliant. Cameron Crowe hits a definite peak here. He makes the characters come alive and he made me care.

Bottom line: A romantic movie with a lot of heart and a great sense of humor. Never been better.
