Various (Music) - Festival Anecdotes

I've had a lot of fun on various festivals in my time. I decided to pick my memory for some memorable and funny moments and gather them on one page just for fun. More will be added whenever I remember some.

Frequently asked Festival Questions

Is it true that you invaded the Sabaton Camp at the Sweden Rock Festival 2005, awoke them all by singing loud Manowar songs and then proceeded to drink all their beers while singing the complete Achilles several times, using the empty beer boxes as drums?

Yes, that is in fact true. It was also this night that I perfected my "Brothers of Metal" shot gun sound.

Did you really once find you front door key in a box of popcorn on the camping ground of the Sweden Rock Festival in 2005?

Yes, that is in fact true and I still sometimes wonder about how it came to be there.

Did you once go in search of Sabaton's tour bus on the Sweden Rock Festival even though you knew they were on tour somewhere else?

Yes, that is in fact true, but in my defence, mentally I was set back a year.

I have heard that there was a werewolf roaming the camping ground at Wacken Open Air back in 2003. Was that you?

No, that was not me. That was a actually a friend called Tommy. He was later cured.

Did you once forget your camera behind a couple of blue drinks at the Wacken Open Air Festival 2003 and only found out while illegally scaling the fence to the photo pit.

Yes, that did in fact happen. Afterwards I spent the whole night on the floor of the metal disco, mourning the loss of my newly purchased camera. Fortunately it was found the next day and I found the right entrance to the photo pit as well.

Did you once buy a whole liter of Whisky and coke at the VIP bar at the Wacken Open Air 2008 and drink it all during the Sonata Arctica concert?

Yes, that is in fact true. I had an incredibly amount of fun during that concert and not really because of what happened on stage.

At the Sonata Arctica concert at Wacken Open Air 2008, I was watching the huge video screen beside the stage and suddenly it showed a bald guy in the crowd trying to balance a huge cup on his head. Was that you?

Yes, it was in fact me.

Did you once lock yourself out of your apartment a few minutes before having to leave for the bus for the Wacken Open Air 2007 festival, resulting in not being able to get into your apartment five days later when you returned?

Yes, that is in fact true though I hold Tommy partly responsible since I seem to remember him activating the lock. Fortunately all our gear was already outside.

Did you once befriend an elderly German pensionist, living across from the Wacken Open Air Festival bus stop, and were you invited to sit in his garden drinking his beer and having tea with his wife and next door neighbors?

Yes, that is in fact true. I was waiting for a friend at the bus stop (Nina) when I met this old guy and offered him a beer while trying to catch up on my broken German. In the end I ended up in his garden in a nice chair for a few hours drinking his beers, while the next door neighbourghs came by for afternoon tea.

Here's to many excellent future festivals! Cheers!
